SIASU celebrated its 50th year of trade unionism in the airline industry with a dinner and dance for over 1600 members. SIASU officially
launched its own web pages on the World Wide Web at http://www.siasu.org.sg

The Constitution of SIASU was amended to rename all divisions to Branches.
 
     
  08 Dec 1991  
 
SIASU's song was officially launched at its 44th anniversary dinner and dance.
 
     
  11 Aug 1989  
 
The new emblem for SIASU was unveiled.
 
   
     
  1985 - 1989  
 
In line with the NWC recommendations and to demonstrate our belief in responsible unionism, we accepted a cut in the CPF payment, in view of the "recession" that Singapore was undergoing.
 
     
  26 Jun 1984  
 
Singapore Airlines Staff Union (SIASU), a house union, was formed with membership open to employees of Singapore Airlines and its subsidiaries with the exception of Singapore Airport Terminal Services and Singapore Airport Duty-Free Emporium.
 
   
     
  Dec 1978  
 
SILO, PIEU and SATU bought the "Big Splash" at a cost of $4.25 million. This recreational center is to provide for the 120,000 members and the families of the three Unions. This is the first venture of its kind ever entered into by any trade union or trade unions in Singapore.

The Union registered its Multi-purpose Co-operative Society. Its first venture is a canteen at the Hangar Complex

A Works Council was set up together with the Management of Singapore Airlines in the Cabin Crew Division.
